National Catholic Leadership Development
& Religious Emblem Counselor Training

Adults involved in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Troops of St. George, American Heritage Girls or Camp Fire are invited to an adult Catholic scout training on August 14, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish, Bryan.  More information is available here on the website.

The training will be broken into two parts: 

  • Part I: Forms leaders on the topic of scouting as youth ministry through Lay Apostolate Formation.  Lay apostolate formation is the process by which Catholic Scouters create greater awareness of our role to "seek the kingdom of God by engaging in temporal affairs and by ordering them according to the plan of God."
  • Part II: Forms leaders on the various Catholic religious emblems and activities; a certification is received upon completion.  Receive Diocese-mandated training to lead an Ad Altare Dei, Pope Pius XII, Marian, Spirit Alive or any religious emblem/faith award program designed for students in middle thru high school. Additional faith formation activities for Venture Scouts, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts as sponsored by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting, including Footsteps of the American Saints, the Rosary and Marian activities, and the Saint George Trek at Philmont. 

All participants must submit a registration form with payment.  Fee includes materials and lunch (for those attending on-site).
