Spiritual Formation Weekend

Thank you for your interest in the Spiritual Formation Weekend Retreat, an in-person gathering on October 14 to 16, 2022 at Pendle Hill in Wallingford, Pennsylvania, a beautiful Quaker Retreat Center on 24 acres. The retreat will begin on Friday afternoon, October 14 at 2:00pm and close on Sunday, October 16 at 2:00pm.

This year's retreat will center on Spiritual Companionship - this is a fundamental practice among Quakers and other faith traditions which strengthens anyone facing human tragedy and those who work for peaceful and just societies. The format is a simple - groups meet regularly every 1-3 weeks with 2-4 people, dividing the time equally to seek and document insights and practices to shape and guide our lives.

This practice-based retreat is for people who are actively digging deeper to experiment with the Spirit in their lives and be changed. Companion Groups do not transform us; they support us when we allow ourselves to be transformed by the Spirit.

Cost (Scholarships available)

  • 2-night-stay and all meals: $255 for a single room; $215 for a shared room; commuter rate is $150
  • Bathrooms are shared by a limited number of people. There are rooms available for those with mobility issues.
  • Pendle Hill requires proof of vaccination. Shared rooms may be occupied by folks of the same household or participants who are in a shared bubble.

Please do not let finances keep you away.

  • There will be several payment options for folks who feel like the dollar amount isn't sustainable for them.
  • There will also be an opportunity for people to pay an additional amount to help cover scholarships for others.
