The Sacred Pause
A Daylong Retreat with Kate Davies
—
Saturday, September 19
9:30 am – 4:30 pm
► HELD IN PERSON and ONLINE via Zoom ◀︎
In the rush of modern life, we rarely take the time to slow down and listen to the quiet and compassionate wisdom inside us. Grounded in the Buddhist insight meditation tradition, this daylong retreat will provide an opportunity to do exactly that — to step out of your daily routine, relax, and open to the present moment. Through mindful sitting and walking meditation, Dhamma reflections, and contemplative sharing, the day will support you in releasing the weight of busyness and reconnecting with what truly matters.
Whether you are new to mediation or a seasoned practitioner, The Sacred Pause welcomes everyone who feels called to rest, reflect, and renew. Come as you are. Leave restored. This is your invitation to discover that in stillness, you can touch into your own kindness, creativity, and wisdom — and that the most profound journey you can take is the one that leads you back to yourself.
Kate Davies has practiced in the Insight meditation tradition for more than twenty years and teaches with sanghas and retreat centers throughout the Pacific Northwest, including the Bellingham Insight Meditation Society and Cloud Mountain Retreat Center. A former environmental policy and social change leader, she is currently Board Chair of the Saranaloka Foundation, Professor Emerita at Antioch University, and Senior Fellow at the Whidbey Institute. Kate is also the author of two award-winning books, including Intrinsic Hope: Living Courageously in Troubled Times. Keep up with Kate through her Substack, Kate's Earth Essays.
