Love, DEAN is a Soul-Americana duo from Portland, OR, known for rich harmonies, heartfelt songwriting, and undeniable onstage chemistry. With just two voices and a vintage hollow-body guitar, Rachael and Luke Price create music that's raw, timeless, and full of soul. Their latest self-titled release is out now, and they're currently at work on their third studio album.

Grace Pettis and Natalie Price - Tuesday, October 14 @ 7PM

Grace & Natalie

Grace Pettis epitomizes the term singer/songwriter. As a singer, her voice is both powerful and beautiful, and she uses it like a fine arts painter to color and craft her songs. She has collaborated with acclaimed artists Indigo Girls and Ruthie Foster and is the winner of many of the nation's most prestigious songwriting contests, including NPR's Mountain Stage New Song Contest, and has received grants from the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation, where she is a continuing mentor, and the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation.

Natalie Price is a singer and songwriter, primarily known for her indie-folk-Americana sound, characterized by her soulful vocals, sincere lyrics and unique blend of genres. Formerly based in Austin, Texas,, now Nashville, she has been creating music for a decade. In 2023, Price was the Grand Prize winner in the prestigious NewSong Music Performance and Songwriting Competition, one of North America's premier songwriter showcases.

"Made in America" is the theme for our Saturday, February 21 & Sunday, February 22 performances with guest mezzo-soprano Jennifer Barrett performing Aaron Copland's Eight Poems of Emily Dickinson and the JSO's own Christi Allison (English horn) and Alyson Bauman (trumpet) featured as soloists on Copland's Quiet City. The JSO will also be premiering a new work by USF faculty member Allen Pierre Cotton, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's buoyant Ballade, and Howard Hanson's too infrequently performed Symphony No. 2 "Romantic."

Our grand finale to the season "Scintillating" will take place on Saturday, April 25 & Sunday, April 26, and will feature St. Louis-based flautist Paola Cubillos performing Carl Reinecke's virtuosic & tuneful Flute Concerto in D Major. Carl Maria von Weber's brooding Der Freischutz Overture and Antonin Dvorak's rapturously beautiful Symphony No. 6 in D Major help conclude our 21st Season. What an incredible conclusion to a spectacular season of soloists and music!
