The Four Foundations of Mindfulness
A Daylong Retreat with Steve Wilhelm
—
Saturday, October 17
9:30 am – 4:30 pm
► HELD IN PERSON and ONLINE via Zoom ◀︎
The Four Foundations of Mindfulness are one of the most precious of the Buddha’s teachings about mindfulness meditation practice.
This daylong retreat will be based on the famous Satipatthana Sutta, in which the Buddha teaches us how to engage on mindfulness meditation, how the four foundations clarify what to be mindful of, and how this process frees us from clinging, all in ways brilliantly applicable to the 21st century.
The retreat will include periods of Dharma instruction, meditation practice and discussion.
Steve Wilhelm has practiced meditation for decades in both the Tibetan and Vipassana traditions, with Vipassana now serving as his primary path. He has facilitated Eastside Insight Meditation since 2000 and graduated from Spirit Rock Meditation Center’s Community Dharma Leaders program in 2017. A former journalist and longtime editor of Northwest Dharma News, Steve also serves on the boards of the Tibetan Nuns Project and Friends of Clear Mountain Monastery.
