The Struggling to Understand Suicide Retreat will be held at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center on Saturday, April 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There is not a full understanding of suicide, but this day will allow for an open discussion and hopefully will bring some healing to those who have lost a loved one or a friend because of suicide. Dr. Louis Gamino who is a Clinical Psychologist at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center and Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Science at Texas A&M University College of Medicine will present a two-hour lecture. Dr. Gamino is co-author, with Hal Ritter, Jr. of a full-length textbook "Ethical Practice in Grief Counseling." Beverly Collin and Brian Egan will share some healing reflections and Franciscan Father Albert Haase will celebrate mass with the Anointing of the sick. Cost is $40 and includes lunch.
