Your child will be scheduled for seven (7) credits his/her freshman year. Your son/daughter will be placed in the following academic classes later in the spring after we have conferred with his/her current eighth grade teacher(s).
  1. English
  2. Math
  3. Science
  4. Social Studies
Before making a final choice for a world language, please read the bulletin from the World Language Department Chair. Note: If your child is placed in the College Prep English I course, he/she will automatically be enrolled in Reading I and thus will not be eligible to enroll in a world language course during their freshman school year.
All freshmen are required to take Theology and Computer Applications.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
All freshmen are required to take physical education. Please check one (1). A student may be excused from physical education during his/her freshman year if he/she submits a doctor’s excuse.

If your child is unable to take physical education, you may substitute a visual arts or performing arts class or he/she can be assigned to a study hall. If your child has demonstrated an exceptional talent in the area of fine arts and you want him/her enrolled in four (4) years of visual arts, he/she may substitute a visual arts class for P.E. the freshman year. If either of these conditions applies, prioritize your choice by placing a “1” in front of your first choice and a “2” in front of your second choice.
Freshmen with prior experience playing in a school band or orchestra are eligible to enroll in band. Place a check mark in the box if you wish to enroll your child in band. Please note: Freshman and sophomore band members will meet every school day during period D2. Junior and senior band members will meet every school day during period E2. All band members will meet for a full period during the school day. Freshmen and sophomore band members may have to postpone taking the required physical education, health, and/or computer courses until junior and/or senior year.
