As a result of legislation passed in 2021, Ohio taxpayers who wish to support Catholic education in Ohio now have the opportunity to receive a tax credit against Ohio income tax liability for cash contributions made to certified organizations that grant scholarships to K-12 students, including students attending Catholic schools.The Good Samaritan Scholarship Fund has been established by the Diocese of Youngstown as a scholarship granting organization to allow interested donors to reduce their Ohio income tax liability on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to $750 per person per year ($1,500 if married filing jointly) by providing donors with a tax credit against their Ohio income tax liability.
