Herbs to the rescue! 

Bumps, bites and bruises are all part of the outdoor summer experience. Did you know there are sundry botanicals along the trail to help you with basic first aid scenarios? Learn to identify at least 20 wild plants, shrubs and trees...herbs to the rescue!

Acquire skills to create your own herbal first aid kit with Master Herbalist Gigi Stafne in this fun outdoor course. Open to beginners and beyond. Dress for the weather, wear shoes for light walking, bring a water bottle and notebook.

Certification, Credit Status, Description:

This class is a required course for students pursuing a WEI Certificate in Herbalism and Environmental Health. It can also be applied for  clinical credit hours in the Master Herbalism Program (Green Wisdom School of Natural and Botanical Medicine). Objectives of the Class:

1) Acquire foundational knowledge about ticks, Lyme Disease and Co-infections.

2) Develop prevention methods for health, tips for actual tick bites, acute and long term care when Lyme Diagnosis is present.

3) Gather timely information about natural and botanical medicines for Lyme.

Instructor Bio:

Gigi Stafne MH, ND is an enthusiastic educator, activist and writer in the health justice and natural medicine fields  She is faculty at the Women's Environmental Institute, Director of the Green Wisdom School of Natural & Botanical Medicine and former Executive Director of Herbalists Without Borders International.   Earth ethics, ecology, sustainability and environmental health are woven into every level of her organizing and teaching for the past 30+ years.
