Black Methodists for Church Renewal
2023 Laity Leadership Institution
Sponsored by Black Methodists for Church Renewal Advocacy Committee
Soul Reset is the second of four courses for persons who want to deepen their understanding and response to God's call to ministry as a layperson, build skills, and relationships building, network, and equip leaders to minister in our churches and communities. Each of these courses is 3 hours in length.
Laity Leadership Institution is an opportunity to provide guidance, direction, and motivation in leading Laity in a new and exciting way. Move Laity outside the walls of the Church and into the community. One way to accomplish this is a transformative mindset and framework, which includes these four 3-hour live online courses—embracing efforts to help people grow spiritually through such workshops. As a Servant Lay Leader, these four courses have been created for personal vision and new ways to help your grow in your faith journey and unique skill sets in order to improve and strengthen your church’s ministries and beyond.
These courses are intended to equip, uplift and support all Laity Black Methodists for Church Renewal across all denominations, and the Church universal!
Register for one, two three or all four!
Soul Reset—Speaker Bio
The Rev. Sharon L. Williams is an Elder in full connection in The United Methodist Church with more than 20 years’ transformational leadership experience as a pastor, strategist, consultant and coach. Rev. Williams has served under appointment in the Missouri Conference, the Indiana Annual Conference, where she was ordained; and in a variety of missionary contexts – from Philadelphia to Atlanta, even Central America where she partnered with International Ministries to lead a Spanish-speaking church start in Bluefields, Nicaragua.
Rev. Williams is a sought-after resource leader with a deep respect for the faithful and a message of hope for the church. She celebrates the gift of Christ’s call and brings to this Soul Reset experience a delight in her own soul as continually inspiring the all-sufficient grace of living sent in service to the world. Rev. Williams cherishes a host of support in this work of transformation, especially that of her husband, the Rev. Dr. Jacob C. Williams Jr. (also a United Methodist Elder); and considers it a privilege to join us in strengthening the witness of a church poised for new stories of grace.
Rev. Williams and her husband recently relocated from Lees Summit, MO, where they enjoyed KC-bbq and football Sundays cheering on the Chiefs; and look forward to loving, serving and leading in their new appointment setting.
