Dubi Fishel Fund for Pancreatic Cancer Research
The Dubi Fishel Fund for Pancreatic Cancer Research has been established in honor of ICRF Chicago board member Dubi Fishel. The fund will support an Israeli scientist focusing on aspects of pancreatic cancer research in Israel. The goal is to raise $33,000 by November 1, 2020.
Dubi Fishel was born in 1948 in Tel Aviv. Like most Israelis, Dubi served in the military, was active in the Six-Day War, the Yom Kippur War, and the Lebanon War. He is no stranger to fighting battles.
In July 2017, Dubi was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. He is fighting this disease with the same strength and determination that he approaches every challenge in his life. He is an inspiration to all who know him. As a member of the ICRF Chicago Board, it is his mission to share his story and generate support for ICRF and cutting-edge cancer research in Israel to help all humankind.
Dubi and his wife, Fran, live in Northbrook, Illinois. They have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren.
