The Video Production Program is open to Ballard High School students in all grades.
It serves both students planning to pursue degrees or careers in film/television production, broadcast journalism, art, advertising, media studies, or public relations and students with a general interest.
Courses include Digital Filmmaking, Media Issues & TV Production, Intermediate Video Production, and Advanced Video Production.
Students interested in careers or further study can build a digital portfolio that meets or enhances college and industry application requirements.
Since the program started in 2001, students have won hundreds of awards at regional, state, national and international film festivals, honors from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, and admission to the best schools of film and television.
Why We Need Your Help
Video production doesn’t come cheap, and the equipment needed isn’t covered by the Seattle School District budget. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to buy six new video cameras to help our students continue to create their prize-winning, career-advancing videos.
This is a wonderful program and we want to keep it so.
