GENERAL WAIVER/RELEASE 

I know that running/walking a race is a potentially hazardous activity and that it’s possible I could have a serious or even fatal injury during the Issaquah Turkey Trot. I should not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained.

I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the event. I assume all risks associated with participating in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, any actions by other participants, volunteers or spectators, the effects of weather, traffic and the conditions of the course, and the risk of serious personal injury or even death, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.

Bikes are permitted by participants under 8 and younger but you must start the course after all the participants have left.

Having read this waiver, knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Issaquah Turkey Trot, Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank, City of Issaquah, event organizers, race officials, all sponsors, volunteers, and their employees, representatives and successors (collectively the “Organizers”) from all claims and liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the Organizers.

I grant permission to the Organizers to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, and other record of this event for any lawful purpose.

COVID-19 NOTICE AND WAIVER.

COVID-19 is extremely contagious. COVID-19 has been spreading in our area and is believed to spread from person-to-person contact and/or by contact with contaminated surfaces.

The Organizers cannot guarantee that you will not become exposed to or infected by COVID-19 during the Issaquah Turkey Trot, and participating in the Issaquah Turkey Trot may increase your risk of contracting COVID19. COVID-19 may cause serious or potentially life-threatening illness, injury, and even death.

I acknowledge the highly contagious nature of COVID-19 and that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other public health authorities still recommend practicing social distancing.

I voluntarily assume the risk that I may become exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while participating in the Issaquah Turkey Trot, and that such exposure or infection may result in quarantine requirements, personal injury, serious illness, disability, or even death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 during the Issaquah Turkey Trot may result from actions, omissions, or negligence of myself, the Organizers, or others.

I understand and voluntarily assume all of the foregoing risks related to COVID-19 and accept sole responsibility for any injury, illness, or harm that may occur in connection with my participation in the Issaquah Turkey Trot.

I hereby release and waive my right to sue the Organizers for any and all liabilities, claims, lawsuits, damages, losses, costs, and/or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating to COVID-19 or participation in the Issaquah Turkey Trot.

I understand and agree that this waiver and release means I give up my right to bring any claims that I became exposed to or infected by COVID-19 during the Issaquah Turkey Trot.
