St. Rita School for the Deaf has educated students in the Greater Cincinnati Community and as far north as Troy, Ohio for the past 105 years. On April 17, 2021 we are planning to host the 45th Annual Dream Makers Scholarship Benefit honoring the Dorward Family. This annual event includes dinner, drinks, a silent auction as well as a program featuring the students of St. Rita School for the Deaf.

This year's Dream Makers, the Dorward Family have been involved with the school since the mid-70's. Through employment or by volunteering, the Dorward family has helped further the mission of the school and impacted the lives of many students. The school holds a special place in the hearts of the Dorward family as much as the Dorward family holds a special place in the heart of the St. Rita community.

While the 2020-2021 school year has presented special challenges during the pandemic, with the support of the community, we have been able to overcome the challenges and turn them into opportunities. This year, every student received a technology device (iPad or Chromebook) to ensure that education would continue in person or remotely. Safety measures were put into place for the start of school in August that included daily cleaning, desk shields, masks and social distancing which allowed the students to learn in person until December 8th.
