The Sisterhood of Congregation Habonim is pleased to launch its annual Mishloach Manot Purim Fundraiser. When you participate, you fulfill the Purim mitzvah of sending gifts, support Sisterhood and the entire congregation, and support our children: 10% of all funds raised will be donated to an organization chosen by our Religious School.
WHAT IS MISHLOACH MANOT?
Mishloach Manot is a festive holiday treat.
Special packages are lovingly assembled by our Sisterhood and contain traditional Purim goodies, including hamantashen baked by Habonim volunteers. This year Purim is on March 20. Mishloach Manot packages will be made for all families in the Habonim community and will be available for pick-up at Habonim starting March 14. In addition to the family packages, all Nursery School and Religious School students will receive their own package during school the week of March 18. If you prefer not to receive a package, you can specify this on your donation form.
The Book of Esther tells us to celebrate joyously and “send portions of food to one another, and gifts to the poor.” Mishloach Manot literally means, “sending of portions.”
Donations toward Mishloach Manot can be made at various amounts. Suggested levels are offered above.
