About Michael:

Michael T. Schanne, Jr. was a proud 1995 graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School, where he was a four-year member of the golf team. During his time at Carroll, he contributed to two PCL championship teams and earned All-Catholic honors as a senior. In recognition of their success, Michael and his teammates were inducted into the Carroll Hall of Fame in 2022. Michael was honored in memoriam, having passed away in 2020 at the young age of 42.

After Carroll, Michael attended the University of Rhode Island, graduating in 1999. There, he continued his passion for golf as a four-year member of the men’s team.

Michael's love for his alma maters, paired with his strong work ethic, shaped the person he became. He was a dedicated student, a loyal teammate, and a beloved friend, known for his kindness, patience, and generosity. His warm smile, great sense of humor, and uplifting spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Michael went on to build a career in the golf industry, where he organized and managed tournaments at both the amateur and professional levels—combining his professional skills with the sport he loved.

About the Scholarship:
In memory of Michael T. Schanne, Jr. ’95, his family and friends have established a scholarship to honor his life and legacy. This award will be given to a deserving student who reflects the values Michael lived by: academic commitment, team spirit, compassion, and service to others.
