It is essential to create spaciousness in life for self-care whether that is yoga, mindfulness or even activities such as kayaking. Alongside such self-care are Herbal Adaptogens and Alteratives, two categories of herbal  allies well suited to help cope with

daily life stressors from nervous tension to exhaustion. Herbal Adaptogens and Alteratives can help us better manage stress in the body and clear toxins. Join this inspiring workshop with longtime clinician and educator Gigi Stafne MH, ND to discover which herbs

might be well suited for your needs during stressful times.

Course Objectives:

1. Identify common stressors in your life.
2. Learn differences between stress, stressors, distress and eustress
3. Understand new clinical categories, Adaptogens and Alteratives.
4. Acquire knowledge of 10 herbal Adaptogens
5 Acquire knowledge of 10 herbal Alteratives

Certification: This class can be applied for clinical credit hours in the Master Herbalism Program (Green Wisdom School of Natural and Botanical Medicine). Instructor Bio: Gigi Stafne MH, ND is an enthusiastic educator, activist, and writer in the health justice and natural medicine fields She is faculty at the Women's Environmental Institute, Director of the Green Wisdom School of Natural & Botanical Medicine and former Executive Director of Herbalists Without Borders International. Earth ethics, ecology, sustainability, and environmental health are woven into every level of her organizing and teaching for the past 30+ years.

*For those taking the full weekend of classes, you must register for each class separately. And limited space is available for overnight accommodations at WEI’s Eco-Retreat Center for $25/night. Please be prepared to share a room with other students. Students are not required to stay overnight.
