III. BE A GUARDIAN AD LITEM

This is our area of greatest need. Last year we received requests for GALs for over 900 children, including children in juvenile dependency cases, or child victims, and witnesses in criminal cases.

I will accept at least two cases in the following areas:

Guardian ad Litem - Juvenile Court (you may accept more than one)

Dependency - Traditional best interest representation; all ages.

Transitions cases - Foster teens age 16-21. Special training offered by LAS.

Appeals cases - Represent or advise GAL on appeals to 5th DCA. Requires additional commitment. Preference given to experienced appellate attorneys.

Delinquency - Best interest advocacy for child victim or defendant in delinquency court.

Guardian ad Litem - Criminal Court
GAL for child victim/witness.

IV. PARTICIPATE IN PROJECTS

Bankruptcy PRO SE Assistance Clinic - 12 slots.

Citizens Dispute Settlement 18 slots.

Family Mediation - 20 slots (must be a certified mediator).

Community Education Panel - Gov’t/corporate counsel preference.

Earned Income Credit/Tax Assistance Project - 20 slots.

Teen Court - 45 slots.

Non Profit Incorporation Project - 7 slots. Incorporation AND Tax.

VALOR Clinic - 30 slots.

Re-entry Clinic - Need 4 attorneys to attend re-entry sessions at the Federal Courthouse once a month. Each attorney will attend 6 times throughout the year.
