RESTLESS HEART
YAMDI Retreat for Young Adults
Experience the Kerygma!
February 27 - March 1, 2026
Saint Augustine wrote that “our heart is restless until it rests in the Lord.” Do you experience restlessness in your life? Do you feel that God has made you for something more? Come and experience the Good News during our YAMDI retreat and see what the Lord is inviting you to!
The “Restless Heart YAMDI Kerygma Retreat” will take place from February 27th (Friday) to March 1st (Sunday)at Mother Boniface Spirituality Center (3501 Solly Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19136) and is open to any young adults (18-39 years old).
The leaders and speakers of this retreat will be: Fr. Stephen DeLacy, Fr. Timothy Tarnacki, Andrea Hall, and more (stay tuned for more announcements about retreat speakers)!
This retreat is part of the OMYA’s Young Adult Missionary Disciple Initiative (YAMDI) formation program. YAMDI leads young adults to encounter the love of Christ in a more profound way and to share this love with others. This formation program also responds to Archbishop Nelson Perez’s call to “create a culture of missionary disciples in the Church of Philadelphia.” It empowers young adults to discover and follow their call as missionary disciples in the Church and take initiative in their communities!
YAMDI formation program follows a 3-phase format: belong, nourish, and serve. The formation includes a weekend retreat, regular meetings, and personal accompaniment. It also happens within a cohort community, which allows the participants to journey together in the path of becoming the disciples of Christ.
To learn more about YAMDI, please visit OMYA’s website: https://phillyyam.org/yamdi/
Currently, you have the option to commit to the full formation program or only the retreat at this time. If you decide not to commit to the full formation program at this time, there will be opportunities to sign up for the program at or following the retreat. You have more questions about YAMDI and the details of the formation program please contact PhillyOMYA@archphila.org
To cover the cost of the retreat, participation in YAMDI will cost each participating young adult $175. Thanks to a donor this retreat cost has been significantly lowered in cost, in contrast to the full cost of a Retreat ($250).
Become a Mentor: If you have already attended the Kerygma Retreat in the past or have finished the entire YAMDI program, you can still sign up for this retreat. Kerygma is always new and refreshing, as Pope Francis invited us, we must hear the Kerygma “again and again in different ways.” You can also apply to become a YAMDI mentor and leader, helping others through their journey to become missionary disciples. Please contact PhillyOMYA@archphila.org for more information and to learn how to sign up to become a YAMDI mentor.
Archbishop’s investment in the Young Adult Missionary Discipleship Initiative: The Archbishop and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia are making a concerted effort and intentional investment in fostering missionary discipleship within young adult ministry (ages 19-39). For that reason, all those who partake in this retreat will receive the YAMDI dinners and formation program at no cost, if they commit to participation in the full program.
Financial Scholarships: There are scholarships available for those in need of financial assistance to make this retreat and formation program accessible to all. Please contact PhillyOMYA@archphila.org for more information.
