ECYD Holy Week Missions at St. Brendan 2025: "Hope Awakens"

Our 2025 theme, "Hope Awakens", puts hope front and center in this jubilee year. Christ is the reason for our hope. He gives us hope. And he wants to make us witnesses to hope for every person we encounter.

6-8th grade boys & girls will not be told about being missionaries; they get to be missionaries--fearless & joyful with their friends! Organized in mission squads (4-6 boys/girls), led by an adult mission leader, they will serve people in the Cumming community through manual labor, faith surveys, gathering prayer intentions, and serving at charity/donation locations.

Each day begins & ends at St Brendan the Navigator parish with activities altogether: Holy Thursday evening mass, Good Friday live stations and Holy Saturday Easter celebration for the whole community in the afternoon.

Holy Thursday (04/17): missionary training, commissioning ceremony with the reception of the missionary cross, dinner, and the Celebration of the Last Supper with the parish.
Good Friday:(04/18) gather at St Brendan's, squads sent out to assigned missions, Good Friday celebration & live stations of the cross at St Brendan's in the late afternoon.
Holy Saturday:(04/19): gather at St Brendan's for an Easter community celebration (family event, food games, catechesis) in the afternoon.

WHO:	6th-8th grade boys and girls Team Leaders (9th grade only) - A member of the mission team will contact you after registration or schedule an appointment with Lauren Weimer here. 25 Adult Volunteers are needed for all three days. If unable to help all three days, help for just 1 or 2 days is greatly appreciated! Volunteers WITH CARS ARE ESSENTIAL. For more information, please contact Jackie Neel.
WHAT:	Holy Week Missions - Visit to nursing homes and Easter Seals, Street missions, Food packing, Easter picnic, Formative activities, Prayer, and Mass.
WHEN:	Thursday, April 17: 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, April 18: 9:00 am – 6:30 pm Saturday, April 19: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm *Missionaries and Team Leaders are expected to attend ALL 3 DAYS of the mission.
WHERE:	St. Brendan the Navigator, 4633 Shiloh Rd, Cumming, GA 30040 (Host location for the mission and drop-off & pick-up every day)
