Retreat Description
Sayadaw U Tejaniya, one of the world’s living meditation masters, often says being aware isn't difficult – the challenge is remembering to be aware. And this is especially so "off the cushion," in daily life where our lives unfold. Yet if we consider everything we do as a potential moment of awareness, we discover countless opportunities to gain insight and grow the beautiful qualities of the heart.
In this unique five-day retreat in Portland, Oregon, participants will not remove themselves from daily life. Rather, we will explore how to deepen and maintain mindfulness practice right in the midst of our routines and relationships.
The retreat begins on the evening of Sunday, March 29 with an in-person session at Portland Insight Meditation Center. Then each day until Friday, April 4, the group will gather online in the morning and come back together in-person in the evening. The rest of the time participants will live their lives, putting into practice what is covered in Dharma talks and guided meditations offered when the group is together.

Curious about the retreat? In this short video, Alexis explains the notion of a home retreat in which participants gather together each morning and evening for guidance and support, and then spend the rest of the day practicing mindfulness amid their typical routines and relationships.
