Recent statistics show that the majority of Catholic newlyweds do not attend Mass regularly and that 23% of them are divorced within five years of their wedding day. This falls just short of those who are married with no religious affiliation (25%) who statistically divorce within the same five year period. Students need to realize the importance of the Sacrament of Marriage and how, like any other vocation in life, they must prepare for it. This workshop on February 8, 2020, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Immaculata Center, 1408 Carmel Dr, Lafayette, seeks to present ways in which parish CCD programs and theology classes in Catholic schools can aid in the formation process of those who will become the Catholic families that renew parish communities through their witness to love and fidelity in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. It is worth 2 formation hours and can be used as 1 elective.
