CRRSAA (COVID RELIEF) APPLICATION FOR U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents   Spring 2021

Application Dates: February 19, 2021 through March 8, 2021

The U.S. Federal Government provided emergency relief funds to Dominican University (DU) through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA). DU is required to disburse funds to eligible students for any component of their cost of attendance, or for emergency expenses that are due to COVID. DU will disburse these funds through this application process. If you meet the eligibility requirements below, you should complete this application. Be sure to complete all pages of this form. An email confirmation will be sent to you once the application has been successfully submitted.

Eligibility for CRRSAA Funds

The Federal Government requires that the following three criteria are met:     

  1. The student is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident*;

  2. The student is currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program; and
     
  3. The student had emergency expenses related to COVID, such as tuition, food, housing, technology, course materials, health and mental care,  and child care.

CRRSAA eligible students may choose to apply grant funds to their Spring 2021 tuition costs.  If you wish to apply your grant funds, please consent by checking the box below; otherwise, an echeck** will be provided.

  • Existing payment plan amounts should automatically adjust once grant funds are applied to your account.
  • If grant funds are insufficient to cover your balance, please continue to work with staff to resolve your account.  
  • If grant funds are in excess of tuition costs, the amounts in excess will be sent automatically to you.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Applications for CRRSAA funds will be reviewed after the deadline date (March 8, 2021). Award amounts will be determined after the application window closes and eligibility has been verified. The requirement from the federal government is to prioritize award amounts to students with exceptional need. *DU will use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process to determine citizenship/residency status.

If your application is approved, you will receive an email of your approval and the amount on or before March 22, 2021. Funds will be disbursed to you on or before March 26, 2021. The disbursement will be made by echeck.   

** An echeck is an electronic check that will be sent to your email address, and will be immediately available to you. You must download to print, or save to copy your echeck, then separately deposit it to your bank account. Echecks will only be sent to Dominican University's email addresses.

Special note: DU uses third-party vendor, Paymerang, to process payments. This is an approved vendor should you receive communications from them.
