ADVENTURERS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The Fresh Expressions movement has used the language of "pioneers" and "pioneering." We have chosen, however, to use the language of "adventurer." Adventurers are: "people called by God who are the first to see and creatively respond to the work of the Holy Spirit with those outside the church; gathering others as they seek to establish a new contextual Christian community." The Adventurers Leadership Academy will equip lay, licensed, and ordained adventurers to cultivate new forms of church and other innovative ministry in their unique contexts. Working in collaboration with an international team of scholars, pastors, missional strategists, and coaches, the academy values practice-focused learning, personal reflection, and individualized coaching and mentorship, and collaborative conversation.

You have been identified as an innovative leader who may be called by God to pioneering ministry and are therefore being considered for the Adventurers Leadership Academy. If you are interested in the academy, we ask that you complete the following application and provide two references. The cost of the academy is $1,250 per student plus travel expenses.

ADVENTURERS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY COHORT STRUCTURE
Spiritual Director: Sue Nilson Kibbey

Overall structure: Self-paced process with in-person gatherings, coaching, a course of study, and immersive learning between each gathering.

Requirements for Certification: Attend four immersive gatherings, participate in coaching, and complete assignments.

Virtual Orientation: Held for new students before each immersive gathering

The Adventurers Leadership Academy meets four times each year. In addition to the reading and online classroom assignment, participants must attend 4 of the in-person immersion experiences, and may take up to two years to complete the requirements. Coaching will be provided to each adventurer, both in groups and one-on-one.
