In this turbulent time, when heavy layers of aggression and injustice fuel suffering and distress, we are told the Buddhadharma can guide us in responding with skill, courage, and compassion.
But how do we actually do this? How do we discern right action in a world spinning out of balance?
This daylong workshop, led by two women who have years of experience weaving together Dharma practice and social action, will explore the ways the principles and precepts of our spiritual traditions find natural expression in bold, compassionate action for our world. The day will include discourse and dialogue, meditations and movement, writing and interaction, tears and laughter.
Join us as we learn to hold the world as it is, here and now, as the field of Dharma practice.
Please dress comfortably, and bring a brown bag lunch as well as a pad and pen for notes.
All welcome. No prior experience required.
Betsy Toll, a longtime student of Ram Dass and Joanna Macy, is the founder of Oregon-based Living Earth.
Kendall is a vipassana practitioner and former organizer of the Portland Branch of Buddhist Peace Fellowship.
