Instructions for Donating Stock and Mutual Funds

Thank you for your support of a parish, school or agency of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. In order to process your contribution in a timely and efficient manner, please complete the steps in the order they are listed below.

To transfer stock or mutual funds that are being held electronically, please complete the information included in the form below as well as Steps 2 and 3.

This form is reviewed regularly and all steps and information included are up to date.

Step 1: Initiate the Transfer with Your Broker

It is important that you contact your financial institution to request their required procedures and forms and provide them with the delivery instructions found below. Include the donor’s name on all deliveries.

Note: Some financial institutions and mutual fund companies require the use of their own form or an additional letter of instruction. If you are transferring mutual funds, please check with your broker to see if the funds are transferrable. If they are not transferrable, please contact Caryn Wilkinson at Morgan Stanley, 317-818-7388 for further assistance.

Step 2: Notify the Archdiocese About Your Transfer

If the Archdiocese is not informed of the details of your transfer, your gift acknowledgement cannot be generated and will be delayed until we hear from you.

The form below serves as notification to the Archdiocese about your transfer. In the past you might have communicated such information to us via email or a paper form.  We require these details as often the stock transfer includes limited information, making it difficult to provide proper acknowledgement. Please complete the form to the best of your knowledge and reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

Note: Those who prefer to submit gift details in writing rather than using the electronic form that follows may submit that information to us in writing.  Please use the document located HERE to provide us full details on your gift.  Documents should be submitted to Archdiocese of Indianapolis, 1400 N. Meridian Street, Suite 105, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Please note, if we do not receive proper notification and designation, the gift will be placed into the general fund until all details are confirmed.

Step 3: Confirm Your Transfer

Transfers must be initiated by your financial advisor or broker. Please confirm with your broker or advisor that your gift has been transferred from your account to the Archdiocese account. Once received, it usually takes 5-7 business days for your transfer to be liquidated, settled and posted. It is at this time that we move the funds to the designated ministry and process a tax acknowledgement for your gift.

Please remember to initiate the transfer based on the number of shares and not the dollar value since security values may fluctuate.


The purpose of this section is to clearly understand your intent as the donor.

i.e.,Donor ID & Pledge Year, Parish or school name and address, Gift restrictions, etc.

If splitting proceeds between two or more beneficiaries, please consider using language such as:
"90% to beneficiary 1 and the remainder to beneficiary 2" OR "$1000 to beneficiary 1 with the remainder to beneficiary 2".


This is my/our written authorization to irrevocably designate the funds/property received by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis as stated above. I acknowledge that final documentation on this transaction will follow in the form of a letter once the funds are received. A confirmation email will be sent immediately after this form has been submitted.
