The Adina’s Angels Fund at Friends of Karen helps children with cancer or another life-threatening illness and their families, especially the siblings who often feel “invisible” because of their sister’s or brother’s illness.

Adina Berkowitz bravely battled leukemia for four years, but died in June 2010 at age 17. Justin, her brother, died unexpectedly just two weeks earlier. The Fund was established by their mother, Paula Berkowitz.

Families like Adina’s know how important Friends of Karen is during this devastating time in their lives. With compassion, dedication and expertise, Friends of Karen helps each member of the family during a frightening and turbulent ordeal, relieving them of everyday needs and concerns so they can focus on what’s really important: their child.
