The longest running experimental theater in the United States, The Living Theatre, enters our eighth decade, but we need your support to continue. We are not backed by mega-donations nor government endowments for the arts. We are supported by small foundations and – most important – people like you.
Over the past four years, we have performed in 22 cities in the United Staes, as part of our Know Your Rites national tour. We have played in half a dozen countries in Europe bringing our workshops, theatrical productions, and street theatre, to audiences, students and refugee encampments. We premiered our new collectively-written play, Electric Awakening, in Brazil. And we have brought our work to the Mexico City Theater Festival and community organizations along the border between Mexico and the United States.
We have brought theatre to those whose voice is marginalized, to those whose suffering needs to be recognized.
Please support us and continue to be part of our work, giving people hope and empowering people to take action, and in the words of Julian Beck, “To call into question who we are to each other in the social environment of the theatre."
