Join The Arts Council of Central Louisiana on Friday, November 17th at the Hearn Stage for a screening of the film Romeo is Bleeding.
Donté Clark is a young poet who transcends the violence in his hometown by writing about his experiences. Growing up in Richmond, California, a city haunted by a fatal turf war, Donté and the like-minded youth of his city mount an urban adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet.’ With the hope of starting a dialogue about violence, will Richmond crush Donté’s idealism? Or will Donté end Richmond’s cycle of trauma?
Q & A with the film's subject, Donté Clark, will follow the screening.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students with ID.
