Thank you for donating to the Charles Syer Fund of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation. It is an unrestricted fund started in 1996 by the late Charles Syer, a banker who was born in Portsmouth, lived most of his life in Norfolk and retired to Virginia Beach. He chose to create a permanent fund that will benefit a variety of nonprofit organizations helping people in southeastern Virginia ― the region he loved.
