What Financial Assistance Is Available?
As a nonprofit organization, we actively raise funds to try to make partial sponsorships (grants) and payment plans available to those who are sincerely committed to participate in our program but cannot afford to pay the full fee.
How Large Are the Sponsorships and How Much Will I Still Have to Pay?
If you qualify for a partial sponsorship, it will cover at least $250 and at most $400 of the regular $650 fee. That means that, depending on the size of the sponsorship awarded, you may need to pay as little as $250 to $400. We do not award any 100% sponsorships. If you need more assistance than we can provide, you’ll need to raise those funds on your own.
However, we may be able to arrange a payment plan to give you more time to pay the balance due. (See below.)
What is Eligibility for a Sponsorship or Payment plan Based on?
(1) Your financial need.
(2) Your commitment to your personal growth.
(3) How much funding we currently have available for that particular event.
You’ll need to answer the questions below about monthly income, expenses and commitment.
Can I Get the Early-Registration Discount in Additional to a Sponsorship?
No, it’s one or the other. But if you apply for a sponsorship early enough, we will try to give you a timely response so you can still make the early-bird registration deadline if you need to.
Do You Provide Grants to Help With Flights or Other Travel to the Event?
No. You’ll have to raise those funds on your own.
How Do Payment Plans Work?
When you fill out the application below, just check the box indicating you want a payment plan instead of or in addition to a partial sponsorship.
If you qualify for a payment plan, we will arrange for you to make monthly payments (usually about $50 or $100 monthly) to pay the balance due--as long as we receive at least $250 from you by September 10, 2019. If you are approved for a payment plan, we will help you set up pre-scheduled payments through this same check-process service that you are using right now.
How Do I Apply?
Just fill out the form below and pay a deposit of $250. This deposit is fully refundable if you do not receive all the financial assistance you need.
If you cannot afford the minimum $250 deposit right now, pay as much of it as you can and fill out the entire form. We will review your application and give you a decision as soon as we can. However, we won’t send information on the specific location of the event until we receive the full $250 deposit.
When Will I Hear From You?
Usually within about 10 days.
Receiving Detailed Information
After you’ve paid your $250 deposit and you have accepted any sponsorship or payment plan offered, we will send you a letter by email with detailed information about the specific location, making travel arrangements, what to bring, etc.
In the meantime, in order to plan your travel, you should know:
- The closest airports to the event are Indianapolis (IND) (about 75 miles away) and Louisville, Kentucky (SDF) (about 80 miles away). Both are about a 90-minute drive from the camp and conference center where we will hold the event.
- We start at 2 p.m. Friday and end about 5 p.m. Sunday.
- We will try to arrange carpools with other participants from the airport to the site and back, when feasible. You may not have to rent a car from the airport. There will be more information about that in the letter we send you.
Our Refund Policy
If you cancel 30 days OR MORE before the Journey Into Manhood weekend: Your deposit and all registration fees are fully refundable.
If you cancel MORE THAN 10 days but FEWER THAN 30 days before Journey Into Manhood: Your deposit of $250 is NOT refundable; however, we will refund any amount you have paid above that.
If you cancel 10 days OR FEWER before the Journey Into Manhood weekend: Your deposit and registration fees are NOT refundable.
No other refunds apply, except on an exception basis approved by the executive director.
