Welcome to TLU Community Music Academy Fall 2020 Registration!

Separate registration forms must be completed for each student.

Registration will be open  from Aug. 1 through Aug. 28. Classes begin the week of Aug. 31.

Please contact us with any questions before registering and paying through this form. This form requires you pay in full using a credit card or e-check. If you wish to pay by check or money order, please fill out this form (except for the payment information), print and mail in your completed form with payment. In some cases it may be possible to arrange payment in installments. If you qualify for a scholarship, you may contact lytaylor@tlu.edu for info and code.

CMA Instrument Maintenance Fee

LEVEL 2 LINDENBAUM OUTREACH STRING CLASS
  • Select the class that you would like to attend, preferably the same location that you attended Level 1 class.
  • This is only for students that have completed a Level 1 string class.

PRIVATE LESSONS
  • Private lessons are available for Violin, Viola, Cello, and Classical Guitar.
  • By registering for Private Lessons you indicate your understanding of and agreement to the CMA Private Lessons Policies. Please review them here.
  • DO NOT register for Private Lessons without FIRST confirming a lesson time and location with your instructor, even if you are currently in lessons or have taken lessons in the past. New students should contact the CMA Director.

SMALL-GROUP LESSONS
  • Each Small-Group Lesson is limited to 4-6 students only and follows the same 12-week semester as Youth Orchestras. Enrollment is first-come, first-served.
  • Students registering for Small-Group Lessons must also BE ENROLLED in a CMA Youth Orchestra.
  • Small-Group Lessons are not intended to replace private lessons as a student’s primary venue for learning.

  • Violin Classes are for students entering 2nd or 3rd grade in Fall 2020.
  • Cello Classes are for students entering 3rd or 4th grade in Fall 2020.
  • Beginning Choir is for students entering 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade in Fall 2020
You do not need to be a student at the school where the classes take place. As long as you are able to arrive on time for class, all students in the eligible grades are welcome to register. Classes may have up to 15 students and if over-registered, students will be enrolled based on registration date and time. There is no enrollment limit for Beginning Choir.
Required Informational Meetings
Families new to the TLU Community Music Academy and signing up for a violin or cello class must attend an informational meeting. Families only joining Beginning Choir may attend but are not required to attend. Meetings will be less than 1 hour and cover our expectations and how to succeed in the program. Children may attend, but childcare is not provided and information will be directed toward parents.

All meetings will take place at TLU Schuech Fine Arts Building, 511 Prexy Dr., Seguin. Follow directional signs inside.

Required Commitments for Lindenbaum Outreach Program participation
  • I understand that registering for a violin or cello class is a two-year commitment and will do my best to work through the practice, motivation, and any scheduling challenges that may arise.
  • I commit to bringing my child weekly, and understand that missing more than 3 classes per semester or an end-of-semester recital may result in dismissal.
  • I understand that a parent or guardian must be present in every violin and cello class.
  • I understand that my child and I must practice together and be prepared for class each week.
  • I understand that there is an annual $20 instrument maintenance fee for borrowing a CMA instrument, to be paid at the beginning of the school year.
  • I understand that there is a $10 per-semester uniform & music fee for all members of the CMA Youth Choirs to be paid at the beginning of each semester.
