Over the past 20 years, Louisiana has consistently ranked in the top five of women murdered by men and ranked SECOND in 2016. To combat domestic violence, our community leaders came together to form the Family Justice Center of Central Louisiana, which is a non-profit organization of dedicated agencies working together to provide critical services to survivors of family violence, domestic abuse and sexual assault, all under one roof. Our programs are designed to stop family violence, make victims safe, hold batterers accountable and provide long-term support for victims and children through collaboration and coordinated services. The United States Department of Justice has declared the family justice center cohabitated model as “the best practice” in combatting domestic violence. With your continued support, we can achieve our goals of 1) reducing the burden for receiving critical available services, 2) decreasing the recidivism rate for domestic violence related crimes, and 3) reducing the percentage of domestic violence homicides.
